Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City delivers a true third person team based shooter experience set within the dark and sinister Resident Evil universe and a reinterpretation of the events depicted in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. Hearing of this plan, the US Government dispatches its own special forces to uncover any evidence that exposes the cause of the viral infection and Umbrella's actions. Cryostasis takes place in 1981 on an Arktika category nuclear icebreaker referred to as the North Wind close to the North Pole. the most character, Alexander Nesterov, could be a Russian meteorologist who was purported to board the ship but he finds it has been shipwrecked since 1968 and its dead crewmen have undergone bizarre metamorphosis. Through the sport the player finds fragments of Maxim Gorky's fairy tale The Flaming Heart of Danko, that parallels what happened to the ship and its crew.  

Cryostasis brings gamers to the Arctic Circle, Russian North Pole station "Pole 21" in 1968. They take on the role of Alexander Nesterov, a meteorologist caught inside the "North Wind," an old nuclear ice-breaker, frozen in the ice many years ago. This steel beast once fought for its country, but it fell into an ice trap as did every living thing onboard. Alex will fight the cold and what lives within as he tries to find out what happened.
